Case 05

Three top-tier brands, three social media strategies

Four years of reels, shorts, stories and carousels for three very different brands: a mining company listed in Toronto and New York, an ice cream chain and a vitamin D brand for babies and children. Each has its own visual code; the level of finish is the same across all three.

01 · Three accounts

Investors, ice cream customers and parents of babies

These are three accounts I worked on at the same time. Fortuna Mining speaks to investors and the mining industry; Baskin Robbins, to its customers in Canada; Ddrops, to mothers and fathers of babies and young children.

What works in one doesn’t work in the others. A big number with its source builds an investor’s confidence, but it doesn’t sell an iced cappuccino. The calm tone a children’s health topic calls for falls short in a seasonal launch. In each account, the job was to find the brand’s code and hold it piece by piece.

Everything shown here I designed, animated or edited myself. At Fortuna and Ddrops, I also led other projects that don’t appear here. Tools: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop, and ElevenLabs for the voice in Fortuna’s 2025 shorts.

02 · Fortuna Mining

Results, mines and a name change

Fortuna Mining produces gold and silver in Latin America and West Africa, and is listed on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges. Until June 2024 it was called Fortuna Silver Mines. Its YouTube channel and social media are aimed mainly at investors, so the content works with numbers: the company’s own and those from external sources, which are cited on screen.

The 2023 pieces use Fortuna Silver Mines’ orange and cyan; the 2025 and 2026 pieces, the blue of the new identity. The footage of the mines is shot by the company itself.

Long-form video for YouTube

“Driving Growth, Delivering Results” tells the company’s story in under three minutes, from its founding in 2005 to the first gold at the Séguéla mine, in Côte d’Ivoire, in 2023. It opens with a map of the operations and moves along a ruler of years: each milestone comes in with its photo and its figure. It closes with the legal disclaimers a listed company requires. I also designed the thumbnails for the channel.

  • Title screen on light grey with a grid: “Driving Growth, Delivering Results”, with the orange label “A Fortuna Silver Timeline”.

  • Timeline from 2011 to 2013: a worker in a hard hat next to the texts “Shares begin trading on NYSE: FSM” and “1,000 tons per day”.

Shorts for YouTube

The shorts take a piece of company or industry news and tell it vertically with footage from the mines. The 2023 and 2024 ones rely on titles, like the one about Séguéla’s first gold. The two from 2025 shown here run about a minute and a half and explain the context with voiceover, maps, press headlines, clips from TV interviews, archive footage and sourced data. One opens with gold as China’s top import from Canada; another, with the ranking of the 40 largest Canadian miners. Their voice was generated with ElevenLabs.

  • Vertical short: aerial view of the Séguéla mine with the title “A legacy in the making: The Séguéla Mine's First Gold Pour”.

Numbers that read without sound

On social, the numbers are animated: a counter that climbs until it beats the target, panels that come in with each result, a progress line toward the next milestone. They’re designed to be understood with the sound off.

  • Orange and grey bar chart on a dark background: “Gold will rally if the US ever defaults”, with what professional and retail investors would buy according to Bloomberg.

  • Split panel: on the left, hands over some blueprints; on the right, on blue, “$78M QoQ Cash Growth” and “$214.8M Net Cash”.

  • Vertical infographic on a light grid: an orange bar exceeds the target mark, 1,278, and the text reads “2,709 Health and Safety Inspections in 2022”.

  • Vertical story: a progress line over a dirt road at dusk marks “Feasibility study complete”, with the date June 29, 2026.

A system for stories

The stories from March to May 2026 come from a single system: the wordmark at the top, an animated blue background, a full-bleed or framed photo of the operations, and a large figure or headline with its label. With it I prepared nineteen stories in four series plus a shared closing: two on the sustainability bulletin for the last quarter of 2025, one with the fiscal year results and another with production versus target.

  • Story on blue: “Q4 2025 in the field” card with a herd of alpacas in an Andean valley and the text “Peru · Minera Bateas · Community Communicators closing”.
    Sustainability bulletin
  • Story on blue: “2025 Sustainability Survey”, with three photos and three percentages: 95% Minera Bateas (Peru), 92% Boya (Senegal) and 79% Mansfield (Argentina).

  • Vertical story: a gold pour at the plant and, on blue, “$330M Free Cash Flow” with the label “Fiscal year record”.

  • Story on blue: a progress bar with the target, 500,000 oz, and progress, 317,001 oz.

03 · Baskin Robbins

One shoot, four reels and thirteen sizes

For the launch of the Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino Blast, in fall 2025, another team planned and produced a photo and video shoot of the product. With that material I animated four reels for Baskin Robbins’ social media in Canada. Each reel uses a different technique and its own background color.

  • Baskin Robbins reel: close-up of an iced cappuccino cup with the BR logo and the title “Pour the pumpkin”.

    Video and typography

The two cups, on video, with kinetic typography on warm grey: “Pour the pumpkin”, “Sip the season”.

  • Reel on a cyan background: a hand holds the cup at the top and below it reads “In every sip”.

    Cut-out photo

A photo of the hand with the cup, cut out and animated on cyan: “Taste of fall”, “In every sip”.

  • Reel on a peach background: the iced cappuccino cup with the finished whipped cream swirl.

    Stop motion

A sequence of photos of the piping bag over the cup, edited photo by photo up to the whipped cream swirl, on peach.

  • Reel on a magenta background: the cup with dusted whipped cream under the title “A fall favourite”.

    Zoom

From the whole cup to a detail of the cream with a zoom, on magenta: “A fall favourite”, “All blended up”.

Six frames in a row: the piping bag fills the cup with cream until it forms a swirl.
Six frames from the stop motion.

One reel in thirteen sizes

I adapted the two-cup reel to thirteen sizes, from 3840 × 1080 to 672 × 216. It isn’t a rescale: in landscape, the cups go on the left and the text on the right; in portrait, the text moves to the top; in the most elongated formats, the text sits in the center, with cups on both sides.

The thirteen sizes of the same reel at the same scale, from the 3840 × 1080 panoramic to the 672 × 216, each with its own composition.

A static for summer

In July 2025, the drinks and ice cream range as a post and a story: the products on podiums, scalloped seals introducing each one and the headline “Cool Cravings, Covered All Day”.

  • Pink post: “Cool Cravings, Covered All Day” over ice creams, shakes, smoothies and sundaes on podiums, with a scalloped seal for each product, such as “Cappuccino Blast®” or “Sundaes”.
    Post 4:5
  • The same piece in story format, with the Baskin Robbins logo at the top.

04 · Ddrops

An animated mascot and health tips for parents

Ddrops is a vitamin D drops brand that speaks mainly to mothers and fathers of babies. Its topics are health-related (immunity, sleep, nutrition, sun protection, colic) and it has a mascot: DeDe, a drop with a sun on its belly. Its code is clarity: sky blue and yellow, short sentences and one tip per screen.

DeDe in motion

I animated DeDe in 2D for dates and moments of the year: World Vitamin D Day, in 2022, and the end of Ontario’s darkest winter, in 2023, with a reel in which the grey sky opens up and DeDe crosses Toronto wearing a cape.

  • DeDe waves under a bright sun over a green meadow, next to the text “November 2nd is World Vitamin D Day!”.
    World Vitamin D Day, 2022
  • Sky of grey clouds with the text “Feeling the winter blues? You're not alone!”.
“Feeling the winter blues? You're not alone!”
  • The Toronto skyline under a grey sky, with the text “Getting enough vitamin D”.
    “Getting enough vitamin D”

Animation that explains

In the stories and product videos, the animation explains: a shield with a bandage among germs to talk about immunity, or Baby Ddrops’ selling points turned into kinetic typography, such as “Made with only two naturally sourced ingredients”.

  • A shield with a bandage and gauze, surrounded by purple and pink germs on a dark green background.
    Immunity, 2023
  • The Baby Ddrops bottle passes in front of the title “Made with your little one in mind”, in blues.

  • Title “Made with only two naturally sourced ingredients” with two seals: “Pure vitamin D3” and “Fractionated coconut oil”.

Tips in series

Tips are spread across series, one per story or slide, with a short headline and a photo or illustration. In the 2026 National Sunscreen Day carousel, the stickers cross the cut between the first and second slides, and the last one links sun protection with vitamin D.

  • Blue story with an illustrated alarm clock and the text “Daylight Savings Time ended this Sunday!”.
    Clock change and sleep, 2023
  • Illustration of orange juice, cereal and milk with the number 2 and the text “Fortified Orange Juice, Cereal or Milk”.

Editing and titles

In 2026 I edited reels shot on a phone, with a presenter on camera. In the one about colic drops, each belief comes in as a quote: with a red X and the edge of the frame tinted red if it’s a myth, and with a green check if it’s partly true. Ingredients the product doesn’t contain appear with a crossed-out icon, and the ones it does contain, with a check.

  • A presenter in a kitchen; above her, a red X and the quote “Gripe water contains alcohol.”, with the edge of the frame tinted red.
    A myth
  • The presenter with a green check above her and the quote “Gripe water is loaded with sugar.”.
    A belief that’s partly true
  • The presenter gestures; in front, a crossed-out icon with the label “Preservatives”.
    What it doesn’t contain
  • The presenter holds the product box; in front, an icon with a check and the label “Organic monk fruit”.
    What it contains

DeDe is the brand’s mascot. The Toronto skyline and clouds in the winter reel, the germs and shield in the immunity story, the moon-and-stars background and the photos in the sleep stories, and the food illustrations are stock images.

Outcome

  • 4years with Ddrops
  • 3years with Fortuna
  • 13sizes of a single reel
  • 19stories from a single system

I’ve been designing for Ddrops for four years and for Fortuna for three, including through its name and identity change. Each account keeps its own code; what stays the same across all three is the level of finish.

Mosaic of 24 vertical frames in three rows: Fortuna Mining stories and shorts, Baskin Robbins reels and Ddrops pieces.
One row per account: Fortuna Mining, Baskin Robbins and Ddrops.
